Selling through third party marketplaces is labor intensive and prone to errors, due to the difficulty of keeping updated the information and pricing. Apart from having to duplicate all the data in each of the marketplaces, we risk offering outdated information due to lack of automatic synchronization. The objective of the project is to create a digital solution that exports the information from our booking management systems in a format and system that can be used to automatically publish our products on marketplaces.
The digital solution to be developed will consist of a channel manager fully integrated with our booking management system that provides us with the following main functionalities:
1) being able to publish products on marketplaces: the new module must be able to choose for each product in which marketplaces it has to be published and which rate to apply.
2) information and price for each product must be updated for each channel where it is being sold. Depending on the channel this will have to be done with a different strategy.
3) when a reservation comes from a marketplace, it has to be automatically managed by our booking management system (only for marketplaces that are capable of such functionality).
Design and implementation of the technical framework required to connect the software database through an API: refactoring of the data model, design of the customizable API calls, implementation of the custom system that allows any developer to obtain the information in the desired format and structure, etc. Implementing specific calls to connect the software to different marketplaces.
Activities that currently are not easily found by travelers will get more attention, increasing the overall value of the destinations where we operate.
The turnover of our companies will increase, creating the opportunity to add new jobs to the business.
A digital channel manager for activities will be available for tourism smes without having to fall in the hands of platforms whose main goal is to intermediate between clients and activity operators.
